Skills and Processes Conclusion

Maryland Science Content Standard Communicate orally or in writing ad description of an investigation that includes: The question investigated The hypothesis made The results of the investigation An explanation of the results using supporting evidence

Objective Students will analyze data in order to communicate findings of an investigation in the form of a conclusion

Quiz Take out a piece of paper and write the word that means the following: Be sure to place your name and class period on the top of the paper

Questions Something that changes in an investigation To use your senses Step by step directions to conduct an investigation Making sense of your observations based on experiences A prediction made about the results of an investigation based on research

Define Inference Scientific Question Independent Variable Dependent Variable Turn in your paper, check your name.

Conclusions Title: Conclusions Date: 11/23/2015 Write the following four items that need to be included in every conclusion.

Conclusion Every conclusion needs to include: The question investigated The hypothesis made the results of the investigation An explanation of the results using supporting evidence

Graph Graph the following data: Pelican’s Speed of dive (mph) Number of fish caught

Write a Conclusion Use the following web to design your conclusion. Write the information in your composition book in the form of the web. Conclusion Web

Now Write the Conclusion Using the completed web, write in paragraph form a conclusion based on the scientific question: “What is the effect of the dive speed of pelicans on the amount of fish they catch”
