2 Timothy 1 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord... 9 who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace..

1 Timothy 5 11 As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry. 12 Thus they bring judgment on themselves, because they have broken their first pledge. Young widows should not commit to remain unmarried and be supported by the Church Its good to remarry - so don’t promise not to Beware dependence

In the course of your conversation each day, Think twice, be careful of what you may say; Your remarks will be heard by a listening ear, You may be surprised what people will hear. Things that you innocently try to portray, Can be changed, exaggerated along the way; Stories change for the worse as they’re retold. So keep any questionable remarks "on hold." Let me give you some very sound advice? When you are speaking, say something nice; Say good things, regardless of who is around, If you have nothing good to say, don't utter a sound. If all the sleeping folks will wake up, and all the lukewarm folks will fire up, and all the disgruntled folks will cheer up, all the estranged folks will make up, and all the gossiping folks will shut up, and all the Christians will stand up, and all the church members will pray up, and if the Saviour of all will be lifted up... then we can have the greatest renewal this world has ever known.

“Up”

Watching what we say When angry... Guidelines Double check you have understood rightly Wait When talking about someone Only speak positive Only say what you would want said of you Be the last person to speak Say nothing to turn others to our side Prioritise encouragement

Watching what we say Would I say (send) what I say (send) to Jesus? Challenges Do I want my words to hurt? Is my interest in others masking things I need to deal with in myself? Am I purposeful or idle?

1 Timothy 5 14 So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander. 15 Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan. 16 If any woman who is a believer has widows in her care, she should continue to help them and not let the church be burdened with them, so that the church can help those widows who are really in need.
