This event sought to unify and provide a vision for the Mesoamerica North Central Field (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua). Two hundred leaders from this field were present. The Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC), Brother Leonel de Leon mentioned that 99% representation of the leadership answered the call for this very important time for the field.

GOALS TO CONSIDER how the Most High God works for the good of His people. TO RELY on God above all else. TO RESOLVE to give God the highest place in our lives. TO PRAISE God for who He is and what He has done. 7

Gen 14 (NIV) 17 Then after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High [El Elyon]. 19 He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High [El Elyon], Possessor [Creator] of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High [El Elyon], Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” He gave him a tenth of all. 8

Hebrews 5 (NIV) 5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, “Y OU ARE M Y S ON, T ODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN Y OU ”; 6 just as He says also in another passage, “Y OU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER A CCORDING TO THE ORDER OF M ELCHIZEDEK.” 7 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him [e] from death, and He was heard because of His piety. 8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, 10 being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Abraham’s Meeting with the King of Salem What was the significance of Melchizedek referring to God as (El Elyon) God Most High? Who do you think Melchizedek was? Was there a significance in Melchizedek offering wine & bread to Abraham? Why did Abraham give Melchizedek a tithe?

Gen 14 (NIV) 21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give the people to me and take the goods for yourself.” 22 Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have sworn to the L ORD God Most High [El Elyon], possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will not take a thread or a sandal thong or anything that is yours, for fear you would say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ 24 I will take nothing except what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their share.”

Abraham’s Meeting with the King of Sodom How was the King of Sodom disingenuous in his offer of a reward to Abraham? What lesson is there for us in Abraham’s example? How does Abraham’s integrity provide an example for us today? 12

Genesis 15(NIV) After these things the word of the L ORD [YHWH] came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.” 2 Abram said, “O Lord [YHWH] G OD, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” 4 Then behold, the word of the L ORD came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 Then he believed in the L ORD ; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. 13
