Place-Value Chart The decimal point separates the whole number part of the decimal from the part that is less than one.
STANDARD FORM Standard Form is the usual way to write a decimal, such as Example: Write one hundred fifteen and twelve thousandths in standard form.

EXPANDED FORM Expanded Form is the sum of the products digit and its place. Example: Write four and twelve thousandths in standard form and expanded form.
