George S. Kaufman

Birth place. George Kaufman was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Georges birth parents were Joseph Kaufman and his mother Henrietta Myers.

Early years George Kaufman was a only child. He came from a family that had good success in local business.

Kaufman in 1917 married Beatrice Bakrow they had one daughter. Later after there daughter they moved from his home town to Bucks county there they lived in a farm house.

Career choices While Kaufman lived in Bucks county he unrolled in the university of western Pennsylvania to study law. Kaufman career there was lived short and soon he and his family moved to Paterson, New Jersey.

Major factors A major factor in Kaufman life would be meeting Franklin P. Adams.  Franklin P. Adams was a column writer in the New York times.

Literary beginning George S. Kaufman became a regular columnist and also a writer and a editor for the Washington Times in Later he became a famous play writer, Broadway producer and screenwriter.

Why he became famous George Kaufman’s way of writing captured the peoples attention and how he could cultivate his wit and his eye for social satire in his journalist days. He was able to bring all his characteristics to his play's in Broadway and his books.
