Areas of Assessment 40% : Weekly Quizzes/ Exams / Essays/ Listening 20 % : Class Interactions / Projects/ Proficiency of language 15% : Homework / Participation 15% : Attendance 10% : Cultural Events (3 events per semester/Mexico Trip=6 events)

Policies It is common practice of the World Languages Department to allow students to have access to the correct answer on a test/quiz and/or any class assignment during class or tutorials at the teacher’s discretion. Students will begin each grading period with a 100% free grade on the attendance column. This grade will be reduced due to absences/authorized school activities as follows: first absence to 90%, second to 80%, third to 70%, fourth to 50% and fifth to 0%. This grade can be made up by attending tutorials and by the end of each grading period. Block days count as two tutorials and a two grade drop.

Grading Scale A+ = 100% B+ = % C+ = % D+ = % A = % B = % C = % D = % A- = % B- = % C- = % D- = % F = 59 – 0%

Miscellaneous The importance of physical and mental preparedness cannot be stressed enough. Please attend class every block. All make-up work must be completed within a week of the original due date. Tutorial period is the preferred time to make up all tests and quizzes. Positive attitude + Speaking Spanish = Success in Spanish
