Higher Education Opportunity Act 2008 The Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (or the Higher Education Opportunity Act). The major tenants are as follows: 1. Accountability 2. Accessibility 3. Affordability

A Call for a Higher Education Summit Arthur Levine, of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, calls on the Obama Administration to call a National Summit. The topics should be: 1. Access and Affordability 2. Research 3. Economic Development 4. Global Competitiveness

A Call for a Higher Education Summit (cont.) The following groups should be invited: 1. Two-year, four-year and doctoral institutions, both state-supported and independent 2. Executive and legislatives branches of the Federal government 3. Key state education leaders, including governors and state higher education officers 4. Global Competitiveness There should be no more than five from each category.
