NILE RIVER VALLEY  Nile River is located in “Africa”  Between 6000 B.C and 5000 B.C hunters and food gathers moved into the Nile River Valley.  Farm the land and set villages along river banks.  They were the earliest “Egyptians”

 The Nile River is surrounded by the Largest Desert in the world “Sahara”  It is the world longest river at 4,000 miles.  The Nile begins as two separate rivers, Blue Nile and White Nile.  The Nile had regular flooding because of melting snow and heavy rains.

 Egyptians were successful farmers.  Reed plant “Papyrus” was a useful resource.  Egyptians harvest baskets, sandals, and river rafts.  Papyrus was a paper maker ( writing paper) for Egyptian.

 Egyptians form of writing is “Hieroglyphics”  Made up of Hundreds of picture symbols.  Symbols stood for objects and ideas.  Scribe were the writers who carved hieroglyphics into stone.  Scribe later wrote on papyrus.
