Intel Confidential 1 Intel® Easy Steps Positioning/Messaging 4th March 2010

Intel Confidential 2 Adult Digital Learning program POSITIONING statement Technology integration in all aspects of our lives has made digital literacy essential to a person’s sustained economic self-sufficiency. Adults in underserved areas around the world find themselves at a disadvantage due to lack of access to proper training on the basic use of computers. Additionally, to maintain a productive and competitive workforce, government bodies and NGOs are frequently looking for ways to provide digital literacy to their adult population. To support the efforts of these government organizations and NGOs, Intel has created simple instructional courses and materials that help adults become competent in the digital world. The offerings are based upon adult learning research that make learning practical and relevant. These courses are flexible and can be delivered in informal or formal education settings (ex: kiosks, vocation training at community center/colleges, employer training, shared access centers). Intel provides a no-fee license to the content to governments and NGOs, who manage the local implementation.

Intel Confidential 3 Intel® Easy Steps MESSAGING Key Messages:  Intel® Easy Steps provides adult learners the opportunity for enhanced social and economic self-sufficiency through digital literacy.  Intel® Easy Steps training is research-based, and is practical and relevant for adults with no prior computer experience. Program Characteristics:  Intel Easy Steps material can be delivered in informal or formal education settings (ex: kiosks, vocation training at community center/colleges, employer training, shared access centers).  The materials are designed to accommodate flexible implementation models, and can be delivered in the form of a course, workshops, or self-paced instruction.  Participants acquire basic computer skills that are locally relevant, and that supports multiple hardware and software solutions.  Intel provides the content free of charge to governments and NGOs, who manage local implementation.
