So many books, so little time. Sigh.  The value of IS program and life after the project.  The writing we are doing in our groups is more meaningful and touching.

Your Comments: What You Learned  Use anchor standards to plan. More manageable!  3 stares and a wish!  Wow…brain overload. So many great ideas, websites, notebook strategies.  Plickers app for QR codes  Removal of indentation to save costs  Sophia.org  Resource Notebooks

Your Comments: What You Learned  College and “laminate writing wls covers” Denise! Help!?  Just because you’ve “covered” a topic doesn’t mean the students learned it.

Your Comments: What You Learned  Strategies to promote Writing Project in my circle of colleagues—especially in my field of study/profession

What Surprised You? What Questions Do You Have?  Can I audit next year?  I was surprised by the vast amount of knowledge each of us has.  Less testing. Assess in other ways.  Model yourself, making mistakes as you go. It’s a process for all of us.  “Know-cabulary:  Leadership opportunities available as a next step

What Surprised You? What Questions Do You Have?  Had not thought about colleagues being resistant to our sharing our knowledge  The brain processes differently when reading on a screen vs on paper  How I rated myself on the leadership roles and which ones I really wanted to improve on  There are only 2 full days left!

What Surprised You? What Questions Do You Have?  The number of journals in class at a time? Science, social studies, math, bullying program, writer’s workshop, resource! How to unify so there aren’t so many notebook/ journals.

What Surprised You? What Questions Do You Have?  How will Common Core address high school growing attrition especially involving students of color? A conversation to have five or ten years from now. TBD.

What Do You Want To Know More About?  Are social issues such as childhood poverty taken into consideration when implementing learning/ teaching practices within Common Core Standards? For example, not blaming poor children for not meeting Common Core Standards?
