What is a telephone? The telephone is a system that converts acoustic vibrations to electrical systems in order to make sound over a distance

How was the first telephone evolved? The first telephone was invented by accident when alexander and his assistant Thomas A. Watson was trying to invent a device that could send more than on telegram at the same time. In Alexander's making there was a set of spring-steel reeds working with the receiving set in one room, Thomas was in the other room. Bell plucked the steel to make a vibration and it also produced a twanging sound, when Bell came in and asked Watson to do the same, when he did it also made a vibration over the magnet and it caused a strong flow through the steel wire in bell’s room. The next day the first telephone was made and the voice sounds could be recognized over the telephone line. http://www.blurtit.com/q972511.html

How does the telephone work? All modern telephones have a microphone to speak into, an earphone or as known as a speaker which reproduces the voice of the other person, a ringer which makes a sound to alert the person when a call is coming in, and a keypad or on older phones a telephone dial to enter the telephone number of the telephone to be called. Telephones have dramatically changed from when it was first invented in the 1870’s to now in 2012! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone

What is the phone like now? Technology has changed dramatically and it will keep changing, today there are cordless phones and even touch cell phones. A cordless phone is like a regular phone without a cord so you can walk around your house while talking on the phone, a cell phone you can take anywhere with you and you can get on the internet with it, and text and so much more. Technology is going to keep changing.

Cell phone A cell phone is a mobile device that lets you move around and be on the phone at the same time, not like a cordless phone because you can go out of your hometown while on the phone. You can text which don’t involve using your ear you just type a message and send to the person, kind of like an email. You can go on the internet such as Facebook, YouTube, etc.. and you can also listen to music. The first cell phone was invented by Martin Cooper on April 3rd, 1973!

Pros & cons Pros Cons -Faster to communicate with friends & family - Can become addicted to the phone Safety - The radio waves can hurt you - - Can be expensive -Cheating as become a huge thing with cells phones in schools
