Good Morning! Thursday, 9/3

Computer Assignments  You will be given a number (on a red, round sticker)  Find your computer with your number in the laptop cart  Bring your laptop back to your seat and turn it on.

Logging In:  USERNAME : first 4 letters of last name, first 3 letters of first name, 2 digit graduation year:  Freshman 19  Sophomores 18  Juniors 17  Seniors 16  EX: If I were a freshman this year, my username would be LattLin19  If your last name is shorter than 4 letters, use the whole name, no spaces.

Logging In:  PASSWORD : student ID number.  If you do not know your student ID number, come and see Mrs. C or Mrs. L.  After you have logged on for the first time, you will be prompted to change your password.  Make sure your password is something you can remember!!!

Find Mrs. L’s website (1)  Open Google Chrome  In the search box, type, “ Liberty High – Issaquah Connect ”  Follow the link

Find Mrs. L’s website (2)  On the LHS website, click “ Staff ”

Find Mrs. L’s website (3)  Click the link for “ Lattanzio, Lindsey SCIENCE ”

Find Mrs. L’s website (4)  Click on the “ Biodiversity ” link on the right side of the page.

Bookmark Mrs. L’s website  In the very upper right corner of the internet browser, click the star so that it turns yellow.

Name your Bookmark  Rename this bookmark to “Biodiversity Website”  Select the folder to be the “Bookmarks Bar”  You have just “bookmarked” this page so that it is easy for you to find again!

Syllabus & Scavenger Hunt  Individually read over the class syllabus and find the answers to the questions on the scavenger hunt.  Answers should be in complete sentences !!  If you would rather type the answers you may. Monoculture vs. Biodiversity  Card Game: 1. You will be given a card with a specific specie of Pacific NW tree 2. Find 5 other people in the class with the SAME specie 3. Write their name on the back of your card.

Monoculture vs. Biodiversity  Brainstorm on your note page these 2 ideas:  What might be some benefits of monoculture ?  What might be some benefits of biodiversity ?

Logging Out:  Click “ Start Menu ” in the lower left hand corner of computer screen  Select “ Shut Down ”  This will turn the power off and allow the computer to charge when plugged in  DO NOT push the “power” button – this will not log you out and other people may be able to access your account.

Putting Computers Away  After the computer is TURNED OFF,  Close the lid  Place the computer onto the correct shelf (associated with your number on the red sticker)  Plug laptop into power cord  Make sure the front of the computer is facing out  This way we can make sure they are charging correctly.  THANK YOU!!!
