11/24/2015 Originally piloted at Woodlands High school in 1972, The WiSe Program (Wise Individualized Senior Experience) is now offered in more that 80 schools across the United States. High school seniors have the opportunity to explore, outside of the regular school day, topics of personal interest and development. Under the guidance of a teacher coordinator and the WiSe Task force, seniors can utilize community, technological and other resources.as they engage in an exciting personal quest. Through internships with experts in their particular fields of interest as well as the invaluable support of WPHS staff mentors, seniors can design projects, examine intended career options and earn academic credit. Once approved in the fall, seniors start in January to document their experiences through journal writing, practicing various research models, honing their speech,Business communication, and presentation skills. Once these and other criteria in the WiSe guidelines are adhered to seniors earn1/2 credit for graduation in June. BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND
