Corner Drill M. M. McMahon, Ph.D. Laurel Summer 2012

Purpose To practice longer making longer passes, receiving passes, and shooting on goal after receiving a pass Reinforces acquiring and controlling the puck in the offensive zone

The Basics All players go into the corners, forming two lines The player at the front of right line will pass first The player at the front of the left line begins to skate to the blue line, and comes back in the zone toward the center The player at the front of the right line passes to the skating player as she comes back in The player with the puck skates with the puck and shoots on goal As soon as the player on the right passes, she skates to the blue line The drill continues with the sides alternating making and taking the pass

Setting up Half the player line up in the corner to the right of the goalie, half to the left Half the pucks go to each corner The first player in each line should be at the goal line Pucks need to keep flowing, so if you see one loose, try to get it to the front of the line
