Start your Summer Salary Add Pay EPAF

Nine Month Faculty Calculate Salary: Summer salary from a grant is considered extra work outside the faculty member’s normal working hours or contract period. Most faculty members are on a 9 month contract. The period of non-contract is considered to be 5/16 – 8/14. – These are their Summer months

Nine Month Faculty For the period 5/16 -5/31, a 9 month faculty member can earn up to ½ of 1/9 of their annual salary. This can be paid in the May check, as long as the EPAF reaches the Provost’s Queue prior to May payroll deadline. For the periods 6/1 – 6/30, a 9 month faculty member can earn up to 1/9 of their annual salary. This can be paid in the June check, as long as the EPAF reaches the Provost’s Queue prior to June payroll deadline. For the periods 7/1 – 7/31, a 9 month faculty member can earn up to 1/9 of their annual salary. This can be paid in the July check, as long as the EPAF reaches the Provost’s Queue prior to July payroll deadline. For the periods 8/1 – 8/14, a 9 month faculty member can earn up to ½ of 1/9 of their annual salary. This can be paid in the August check, as long as the EPAF reaches the Provost’s Queue prior to August payroll deadline.

Example: Jimmy Choo is a 9 month faculty member with and annual salary of $90,000. Can you calculate what his summer salary will be for the months of May, June, July and August? May $90,000 ÷ 9 = $10, x.50 = $5, June $90,000 ÷ 9 = $10, July $90,000 ÷ 9 = $10, August $90,000 ÷ 9 = $10, x.50 = $5,000.00
