Project Goals Connect the TSLab/SCINT joint testbed to PDC and the Global Optical Research Network using MENTIS 3000 network elements and Juniper M-series routers. Configure label switching on above network Setup a grid computing testbed and study the AAA of mobile users using grid middleware

Linux MPLS More routers were needed Linux MPLS –Cheap / Uses standard hardware –No support of MPLS by default –Requires patching the kernel source and recompiling the kernel Easier said than done!

Types of LSPs Two types are configured on testbed –Static LSPs –Signaled LSPs (RSVP/CR-LDP) Label removal behavior –Penultimate hop popping –Ultimate hop popping

GMPLS Configuration Steps –LMP configurations LMP TE links LMP Peers – MPLS configurations MPLS Path MPLS LSP

Why not on testbed? GMPLS signaling requires strict paths –Strict path defined by listing all transit routers Mentis 3000 NE does not yet support GMPLS

Grid Computing Testbed Fully functional Middleware: The Globus Toolkit (v2.4) Testbed portal: Gridscape Testbed to be extended to PDC

AAA of mobile users with grid middleware Middleware security based on the Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI) –Based on public key cryptography –Proxy certificates (delegation/single sign- on) PKI based has advantages

System Operation common server and user mutually authenticate each other User delegates the common server to contact the firewall control software After mutual authentication, firewall control software opens up a rule for user
