The lion’s prey included: Zebras, wildebeest, impala, giraffe, buffalo, and other small mammals. They are mainly nocturnal, so most of the hunting is done at night.
The lion’s nickname is “the king of the jungle”. Both female and male lions roar, their roar can be heard over 5 miles away. The cubs begin hunting at 11 months but remain with their mother for at least two years. The lion’s lifespan is years. The lion’s top speed is 50 mph for short distance.
