By the end of this lesson, students will be able to evaluate the relationships between Europeans and Native Americans by analyzing continuing contact between the 2 groups, including wars between the 2 civilizations

How did Europeans and Native Americans interact in North America in the 15 th and 16 th centuries?

In small groups, students will use graphic organizers to research and then share findings about 5 wars between colonists and Native Americans Pueblo War Beaver Wars Pequot War Chickasaw War King Philip’s War

Students will read “A Rhode Island Quaker Sympathizes with the Indians (1675)” Examine the cultural changes that impacted both groups

Individually rank the wars 1 to 5 and provide at least 1 piece of relevant historical evidence to support your conclusion and decide if the impact of the cultural change increased or lessened over time

Be sure to read “The Transformation of European Society” for Thursday.
