The Solar system By: Tye Beischer

Sun % of mass in solar system -Yellow Dwarf star -Temperature surface of 5500 °C - Made of 75% hydrogen and 25% helium - Is almost a perfect sphere

Mercury - like surface of moon - 46 million km to sun - has no moon - second hottest planet - temperatures up to 427 °C on

Venus -a day longer then a year on -more volcanoes then any other planet -the second-brightest object in the sky -surface temperature -108°C - Is a gas giant

Earth - Only planet not named after a god - has a powerful magnetic field - rotation is gradually slowing - 70% of earth is covered by water - Surface Temperature -88 to 58°C Orbital Periods of the Planets

Mars - Has two moons - Surface Temperature -87 to -5 °C - The sun appears half the size then on earth - tallest mountain in solar system % less gravity then earth

Jupiter - Has 67 known moons - Shortest day of any planet in the solar system - The red spot is a storm - Has 4 known rings - liquid metal at it's center

Saturn - Has 62 known moon - Has 30 rings - Surface temperature of -139 °C - storms similar to Jupiter’s - Mostly made of hydrogen

Uranus - Surface temperature of -197 °C - Has 27 known moons - Has 13 rings - Moons named after charters created by William Shakespeare and Alaxander Pope - one spacecraft has passed by Uranus

Neptune - Has 14 known moons - Has surface temperature of -201 °C - Is the smallest of the ice giants - Only one spacecraft has passed by Neptune - Was discovered on September 23rd 1846
