Lending computers to children 2 To explain again the thinking behind lending PCs to children:  Three schools involved: Eastbury Secondary School, Ripple Junior and Ripple Infants.  All three schools share the same vision of as many children as possible having access to an up to date computer.  To help your children with their learning we want to lend you an up to date PC for the entire time your child is with us.

4 What you will get:  A 17” flat screen.  Built-in speakers.  A DVD “drive”.  A CD re-writer.  MS Office (word).  Educational Software.  Anti-virus software.  Software to get you on the internet.  software.

Lending computers to children 5 What you need to do:  Agree and sign the terms of agreement document.  Be in when the engineer delivers the PC.  Consider attending training that will be provided.  Look after the computer and contact: The company if it gets damaged or doesn’t work, The police and the school if it is stolen.  Return it when your child leaves either schools.  Have a fun time getting to know with your children all the great things that you can do and learn using the computer

Lending computers to children 6 Timetable of events:  All three schools have collected computer data, which we used to invite you to come along.  Parents sign the lending agreement today/tonight.  Both schools contact the supplier with the numbers required over next week.  Schools will provide instructions/CDs on how to setup a connection to the Internet and make your computer safe from viruses before the computer arrives.  Computers are built by the company and you will be contacted as soon as possible by the company for a delivery date, which will be after the ½ term holidays.  School-based training offered in the summer ½ term.

Lending computers to children 7 Additional Benefits for you:  Your children can further develop the ICT skills taught in class.  Access the School Website.  Will be able to download homework.  Will receive school newsletters by .  Pre-installed educational software.  Free anti-virus software.  We will show you how to look after your PC.  PC will be yours do use as you wish!
