What is wood Wood is a hard fibrous lignified under the bark of trees. It has been used for centuries for both fuel and construction and also several types of materials in living areas such as houses, known as carpentry.

Process of Harvesting 1 st Marking the trees with paint 2 nd Felling means cut down tree 3 rd Delimbing means cut branches off 4 th Skidding- drag it to an open area 5 th Bucking means cut into logs 6 th Load logs onto log truck 7 th Take to the mill

The mill 1 st the logs are scaled either on the way to mill or at the mill 2 nd the bark is removed from logs 3 rd the head saw or primary saw breaks the logs into cants and flitches with a smooth edge

Mill 4 th is edging it takes all the irregular edges and trim leaving 4 sided lumber 5 th is drying the moisture out of the lumber it can be air dried or with kilns 6 th is shipping and transported the finished lumber to the market or store that its going to.
