Happy Monday! I hope you had a nice weekend! In your journal, I’d like for you to write down any questions you may have about the research project you’ll be doing. If you don’t have any questions, get out your textbook and open it to page 813.

Odyssey Timeline 1)Odysseus and his men leave Troy and are shipwrecked. 2)They arrive at the island of the Lotus Eaters. 3)They meet the cyclops Polyphemus 4)Wind god Aeolus gives Odysseus wind to get home; Odysseus’ men open in, they are blown off course. 5)They arrive at Circe’s island.

continued 6) Circe turns Odysseus’s men into animals, sends him on a quest to the Underworld. 7) He returns, the men are restored. Circe warns Odysseus of sea monsters. 8) Odysseus and his men narrowly avoid the sea monsters. 9) They land on Helios and the crew kill the sun god’s cows.

10) Zeus kills all the men but Odysseus and Odysseus arrives at Calypso’s island. 11) He is there 7 years. 12) His son Telemachus sets out to find Odysseus, Athena is helping him. 13) Athena demands that Calypso release Odysseus, Calypso does. 14) Odysseus washes up on an island and is hosted by King Alcinous

15) Odysseus is granted passage back to his homeland Ithaca. He is in disguise. 16) Odysseus and Telemachus meet. T doesn’t recognize O. 17) They go back to O’s palace. No one recognizes him, not even his wife. 18) A hundred suitors have been trying to marry Penelope. She is resisting.

19) The suitors are also rude and eating O’s food. T hates them but can’t do much. 20) Penelope creates a test and says that she will marry the winner. 21) The “beggar” wins the contest. He then kills the suitors and is reunited with his wife.

So, what questions do you have?

So, about the paper You can’t use flashdrives. Got that? NO FLASHDRIVES. Instead, you will your paper or work to yourself as an attachment. I will show you. My Gmail. My Gmail.

You and your group: 1.First, you need to all know which Greek god you will be writing your paper about. 2.Now you all need to agree which individual projects you will be working on. (Remember, each of you must do a different assignment.)

Back to the paper – decide which path you will follow Dividing up research 1.Who is researching the god’s general information? 2.Who is researching this god’s role or duties? 3.Who is researching this god’s role in the Odyssey (not all the gods are involved?) Dividing up the duties 1.Who is doing the researching? 2.Who is doing the writing? 3.Who is doing the editing and citations? (I will help with citations?) Dividing up the writing 1.Who is writing the introduction? 2.Who is writing the body? 3.Who is writing the conclusion?
