SAFETY RULES FOR SCIENCE

Follow Instructions Follow the teacher’s written and oral instructions. Ask questions if you do not understand what to do

Beware of Poison DO NOT taste eat drink inhale anything used in science activities unless the teacher tells you to. Dispose of waste properly. Never pour chemicals down the sink!

Your Hands Will Get Dirty Keep your hands away from your face, eyes, and mouth and keep your hair tied back during science activities. Wash your hands after using materials or chemicals.

Protect Your Eyes Always wear goggles when handling chemicals glass containers heat is being used in the lab.

Clothing No loose clothing No dangling jewelry Closed toed shoes

Ask First Any experiments you want to try on your own must be approved by the teacher. Unauthorized experiements are prohibited

Tell the Teacher Tell the teacher if you see something / someone being unsafe

Accidents Happen Always cut away from you. Tell the teacher if you have an accident or an injury.
