American Symbols

The Bald Eagle The bald eagle is our national bird and a symbol of the United States of America.

Mount Rushmore Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln are carved into Mount Rushmore. It is located in the state of South Dakota.

American Flag The colors on the flag represent different characteristics: Red – bravery or courage Blue – freedom White - loyalty

The White House This is the President’s house. It’s located in Washington D.C.

The Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France. She stands in New York Harbor. She is a symbol of freedom.

Uncle Sam He is a symbol of the best ideals of the United States.  From the earliest days until today, he has stood for Freedom, Equality, and Justice.

The Rose The rose was designated the official flower and floral emblem of the United States of America in 1986. The rose has been around for about 35 million years and grows naturally throughout North America. More often than any other flower, we hold the rose dear as the symbol of life and love and devotion, of beauty and eternity.
