Biography Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is a singer, songwriter & actress. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her parents are Mathew and Tina Knowles. She has a daughter with Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) named Blue Ivy Carter. She is currently living in Manhattan, New York.

History Beyoncé rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of an R&B all girl-group Destiny’s Child. The group became one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. The release of Beyoncé's first album, Dangerously in Love sold over 11 million copies and earned 5 grammy awards. Through a career spanning 18 years, she has sold over 75 million records as a solo artist.

Interesting Facts Beyoncé's singing talent was discovered at the age of 8 in a dance class.
