We promise you a bright future …but we need your help!

Goals Participants will gain an understanding of the challenges facing a 21 st Century school. Participants will recognize the importance of developing 21 st Century skills in our students. Participants will learn ways they can become involved and make an impact on the future of education.

There is quite likely no substitute for the experience of feeling empowered... if we hope for children to pursue learning enthusiastically within the structure of a classroom or a school. Learning and power are inextricably linked. [Robert Fried, The Game of School, p. 65]The Game of School

The challenge

21 st Century Classroom Integrated and Interdisciplinary Global 21 st Century Skills Relevant, Rigorous and Real-world Adapting and Creating Project-Based and Research Driven Student-Centered Technologies and Multimedia *Source: Introduction – Education in the 21 st Century; August 2008www.21stcenturyschools.com

Who’s on board? “I'm calling on our nation's governors and state education chiefs to develop standards and assessments that don't simply measure whether students can fill in a bubble on a test, but whether they possess 21st century skills like problem-solving and critical thinking and entrepreneurship and creativity.”  President Barack Obama, March 10, 2009

Why all these changes? Are you on board? As a young business person – what are your first thoughts in starting or growing a business? A young business person in China’s first thought is: How can I sell my product or service to an American?
