Read the paragraph and list any nouns you find ( you may work with a partner next to you.) Despite the blue sky and the greenery, the island does not seem welcoming. The jagged mountains seem in hospitable to human life, the shore seems too small to permit a safe landing, and a deep shadow falls across much of the island. These details combine to create a rather forbidding mood that contrasts with the calm blue sea and the puffy white clouds.
