In your groups O Discuss each of your individual definitions for history O Come up with a single group definition that all members agree upon O As a group develop 4 reasons why studying history is important

What is History? O Political – Government O Economic – Agriculture, Industry, and Trade O Social – Everyday life and Culture

Why study History? O History is the best way to learn how to think analytically O The world is not black and white, there are a lot of grey areas and multiple answers to questions – Which is the right one???? O History teaches you how to articulate yourself O If you cant express yourself, no one will hear you O History tells us who we are – How can you think forward without looking back? O Not just names and dates O Many of our leaders look back into history to think forward O History RHYMES not repeats
