The Blessings and Benefits of God’s Boundaries

Off limits because of natural dangers Off limits because of man-made dangers Off limits because of dangerous animals Off limits because of special personnel Off limits because of … etc. etc.

Boundaries in the world (Job 26:10; 38:8-11; Psa. 74:17; Prov. 8:29; 30:4; Jer. 5:22) Boundaries in approaching God (Ex. 19:12,23) Boundaries in the priesthood (Lev. 16:1-2,34; Heb. 9:7) Boundaries in personal property (Deut. 19:14; 27:17) Boundaries in tribal territory (Deut. 32:8; Josh )

Boundaries in age of mankind (Job 14:5; Psa. 90:12) Boundaries in location of mankind (Acts 17:26) Boundaries in marriage (Rom. 7:2-3; 1 Cor. 7:22,39) Boundaries in society (Rom. 13:1-8) Boundaries in personal conduct (2 Cor. 10:13-15)

Boundaries in the church (1 Tim. 3:14-15) Boundaries in Satan’s activity (Job 1-2; Rev. 20:2) Boundaries in the word of God (Num. 22:18; Mt. 16:19; 18:18; 1 Cor. 4:6; 2 Jn. 9)

The Devil’s way is popular because he promotes “freedom” – no limitations (Gen. 2:16; 3:1ff) “Lasciviousness” (“licentiousness”) is to act without restraint; without limitations (Gal. 5:19) False teachers promise “liberty” (2 Pet. 2:18-19)

Christians have personal “liberties,” but may not use them to cause others to sin (1 Cor. 8:9; 10:29) Christians are “free,” but not free to sin (Gal. 5:13; 1 Pet. 2:16) Christians have a law of “liberty,” but not a liberty to sin (Jas. 1:25; 2:12) Let us live within God’s boundaries and be blessed and benefitted (parents, elders, self)!
