Update Held 9 meetings with library directors and techies in August Attended E-rate training in Washington Sept. 27 th -29 th Provided E-rate training on Oct. 5 th with Teri Lawrence Held discussions with BellSouth, OTM, State Procurement (ongoing) Drafted RFP November 2004 (at OTM/Procurement) Drafted Technology Plan template (in beta testing)

Goals Upgrade bandwidth as needed throughout the State Comply with E-rate and State regulations Provide support for E-rate for public libraries Maintain a stable and expandable network

Next Steps November 2004 – June 2005 – Install 5 DS3 circuits (Lake Charles, EBR, Shreveport, Jefferson, Ouachita) at hub locations – Install 5 hub routers – Cisco 7204 – Install 5 hub firewalls – Upgrade hubs to 6 meg and 3 meg access – Upgrade 7 other headquarter libraries to 3 meg connections – Install 7 other headquarters routers – Cisco 2800
