Vita Preparation STRATEGY n Keep your Curriculum Vita (CV) up-to-Date and base your P&T vita on it n Prepare vita for your audience: the P & T Committee, and all the reviewers of your dossier n Use Dynamic not Static CV: change wording to highlight a match between your achievements and the promotion/tenure criteria n Prepare VITA early n Have a reviewer look for clarity and legibility

P&T Committee Instructions for Dossier Preparation D. General Summary Section Vita Outline: The vita outline is a brief summary of the candidate's professional career. It includes information about education, a listing of professional positions held, and a summary of major professional activities. It is not a full curriculum vita; it should list, but not describe, positions. See I.U. Library Faculty Handbook,

n Don’t Include in Vita –Irrelevant information is a liability. Exclude: –Age –Ethnic identity –Political affiliation –Religious preference –Hobbies –Marital status –Place of birth –Photographs –Height, weight, health
