Facts about rivers  A river is an flow of water that flows into the sea.  Rivers are an important part of the water cycle.  Sometimes rivers aren’t strait forward they meander  Most rivers are freshwater.  There are 165 major rivers in the world.

How big is the River Mississippi?  The river Mississippi is 3,734Km.  The river Mississippi ranks the  4 th longest and 10 th largest river in the world.  More than 170 bridges (foot and railroad)span the Mississippi river on it’s journey from the source to mouth.

Where is the River Mississippi? TTTThe River Mississippi starts at lake itasca. TTTThe mouth is at the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana. IIIIn the 16th century the Mississippi formed the borders beetween new spain and new france

Where does it flow?  The river Mississippi’s drainage basin this is the area where it collects water. It covers parts of 31 U.S states and 2 provinces of Canada.  The river Mississippi lies in the following 10 U.S states :Louisiana,Mississippi,Ark- ansas,Tenesee,kentucky, Missouri,lllinios,lowa,wisc- obsin and Minoesoty. 
