Comenius meeting Brno November 2010 IES López Neyra
Four big problems BotellónWater waste Noise pollutionToo much rubbish
First problem: Botellón That means: The big bottle.
Young people meet at the weekend in parks or big areas to socialize, bringing their own drinks.
You may think that this is not bad,but
It has many consequences: A massive amount of rubbish. Noise at night, which disturbs the surrounding neighbourghoods. Damage to young people’s health.
Solutions ?…. People don’t want to stop having “botellón”, so the government has prepared specific areas to do it with qualified people around.
S econd problem: noise pollution
A report by the World Health Organization (WHO) considers the 50 dB (a) as the desirable upper limit. 80 million people are exposed daily to noise levels above 65 dBA
In Spain we suffer from noise pollution because of busy traffic, loud speaking, loud music at night…….
AND THESE ARE THE CONSEQUENCES....
Solutions: in my school we are trying to solve the problem by.. Playing music during the breaks People listen and stop shouting Trying to make students and teachers conscious of the problem A specific campaign against noise at school with posters, competitions…
Third problem: waste of water
O ne of the most important problems of our country is the shortage of water because our climate is not as wet as we’d like, our weather is dry and hot.
I n addition, the greatest amount of our water supplies go to irrigated land for agriculture and farming.
However, young people don’t care too much about wasting water in their personal habits and don’t take steps to prevent this problem.
Solutions...? Waste water recycling Change our daily habits to save water Storage of rain water in dams
Fourth problem: too much rubbish
We produce too much waste! Packaged food and drink Shopping bags Technological waste
Solutions…? Three steps First, being aware of the problem and getting information Second, taking part in ecological campaigns Third, changing our habits
