Presentation transcript:

This solution sees the WITSML server located in the company DMZ, which is probably in the same physical location as the operations offices (but may not be for some who have centralised access management to the internet) Internal users can access plots at fast speed, and these plots can also e accessed externally as the DMZ is also open to the internet Data can also be forwarded to the data acquisition company through a dedicated VPN (virtual private network) – in the case where an independent satellite link for that company is not in use These independent satellite links add extra cost to the operation, since if the service company pays for it the cost is certain to be passed on the Operator one way of the other This hybrid solution incorporates the advantages of both the fully outsourced and internal solutions, but may not be allowed because of security concerns

Overview of PowerStream PowerCollect is the rig component that acquires data from all contractors at the rig, regardless of the format in which they provide the data (WITS, WITSML…) and saves the collected data in WITSML stores. PowerCollect is capable of connecting to serial and TCP feeds, in server or client mode. PowerStore is the Petrolink WITSML store, which supports the full specifications of WITSML Version 1.2 and Version 1.3.1. It strictly follows the WITSML specification, including the publish/subscribe method dropped by other contractors, special handling, and full support for all objects. PowerSwitch is the inter-store data synchronization tool that allows data transport between WITSML stores. It supports all vendor extensions and is capable of handling the non-standard implementations. PowerView is the visualization server that provides the real-time displays of the data, including log views, azimuthal display, and digital gauges with alarms. It is based on logPlotML PowerForm is an XML-based Daily Reporting system that creates Reports from the WITSML Store

Database The Petrolink Databases have been structured on the WITSML Objects Structure, thereby making it easy to store and recover the data Petrolink are currently using SQL as the underlying database storage mechanism, but as we have adopted the WITSML structure it is very simple for us to port the Solution to other relational databases such as Oracle
