May 2010 Outcome of the presentation by Dante and Janet en February 2010 at ECMWF Géant NOCs : level 1 service desk 24/7 Geant NOCs: level 2 and 3 technical support Private network (dedicated capacity) for bandwidth higher than 1 Gbps Service contracts would be with each NREN (National Research Network), which have their specific GTR and opening hours for level 1 support
May 2010 Discussion after the workshop about Dante Participants : Norway, Italy, Deutschland, Sweden, ECMWF and France Considering the following points : –Dante don’t propose private network for bandwidth lower than 1 Gbps –Countries joining Dante must use their own NRN : The GTR are not the same depending on each country (10 hours for Janet) Level 1 help desk is generally not available during nights and week- ends Dante doesn’t match our prerequisites
May 2010 Other Internet provider No meeting with other Internet provider The Internet providers will not be the same in all countries –No common SLA for every country –Two different help desks if there is a problem between 2 countries Any other Internet provider is not suitable for operationnal exchanges
