Status of Coco Coir Project The project started on 2003 Equipment and training of coop’s members – provided by PITAD Inc. based in Northern Samar LGU provided the working and machinery shed, retting pool, water supply, electrical connection and working capital. Members are the poorest of the poor in the community
Production volume – 3,500 coconut husk per day or 300 – 400 kg fiber. Gross sales (2 months operation = P100, relevant agencies and academe (ESSU) assisted the coop in capability building
