Research Problem The lack of minority male student matriculation through various majors of S.T.E.M.

Research Question Does peer organization and minority male mentorship provide an environment in which minority males can thrive and matriculate in the areas of STEM and if so how?

Research Methods My primary research methods include: 1.Minority Male STEM GPA 2.Individual Development Plans 3.Retention rates How will I collect these data?1.Individual interviews 2.Institutional research 3.Survey My strategy to analyze these data will be: Data analysis for GPA will look to see their increases in GPA compared to peers. Student Attitude and development will be measured by ranking responses from Individual development plans as well as with Individual interviews.

Alignment of Research Question and Methods QuestionsToolsAlignment Improvement in matriculation through STEM major Measurement of GPA vs. Female STEM students Measurement of GPA vs. other minority males outside of STEM GPA’s will determine whether the implementation of methods used, work directly. Progression in STEM majorIndividual Development PlansIDP is a changing document, and will measure improvements in skill levels and goals as they evolve over time as a student moves through the undergraduate program.
