Parent Portal The parent portal contains information regarding the MDCPS and your child. Most importantly this is where you find the gradebook! Access to the parent portal requires you to set up an account. You need the PIV number which you can obtain by going to the main office with a photo ID and requesting it. You also need your child’s student ID number which can be found on their report card.

Gradebook Click on the grades to see the assignment information To see any missing assignments click on the arrow to “missing assignments” and then click get report
Grades/Gradebook Grades are entered into the gradebook about once a week. Grades are shared with the students once the papers are graded.
Grades/ Gradebook con’t Please check your child’s grades through the parent portal. We will only send home a mid-term progress report and failure notices when necessary. If you child is absent it is THEIR responsibility to get the make up work. Missing assignments can be seen on the gradebook in the parent portal. We will not be reminding students of their missing work. Missing assignments appear as a Z in the gradebook and count as a F.
Grading Scale The grading scale is set by MDCPS and can be found in the parent handbook. It is as follows: A=100%-90% B=89%-80% C=79%-70% D=69%-60% F=59% and below.99 and below
HONOR ROLL Honor Roll criteria is set by MDCPS. Principal’s Honor Roll is All A’s, 1’s and A’s in conduct Silver Honor Roll is an overall average of with all A’s and B’s and 1’s and 2’s with conduct 3.0 or higher. Bronze Honor Roll is an overall with all A’s and B’s and 1’s and 2’s with conduct
Schedules Your child has a copy of their schedule in their yellow home learning folder Students have Spanish everyday unless they are being pulled out for tutoring Remember to send a water bottle on PE days
Home Learning 30 minutes reading every day, (3 nights a week must be Reading Plus)! Practice multiplication facts EVERY night for at least 10 minutes Mon. Tue. Mrs. Izquierdo will give the Home Learning. Wed. Thurs. & Fri. Mrs. Littman will give the Home Learning. Please check over your child’s Home Learning as it reflects what is being taught in class.

FCAT and Mandatory Retentions FCAT given in April 2012 There are 3 ways to pass: FCAT SSS Reading level 2 or higher Portfolio Passages done in class Additional assessment done in May for those who score level 1 on FCAT reading

Required 3 times a week (replaces the 30 minute reading) Increase reading fluency and comprehension Must be done on the computer Handout with directions is in your child’s home learning folder
