Did you know that Poe lost his parents at a very early age?

Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston in 1809.

Read a biography of Poe.

What a tragedy!

Tell me what you think about his writing.

At her parents’ home.

Most of her poems include original insights.

Her writing style gives every word weight.

To every possible human concern.

Lived from 1830 to 1886.

Charles Dickens wrote many great novels during his lifetime.

He published short articles on life in London.

His first novel was Pickwick Papers.

My favorite Dickens novel is Hard Times.

Dickens’s own favorite novel was David Copperfield.

They were famous for their poetry.

Elizabeth and Robert wrote hundreds of letters to each other.

The couple got married, and moved to Italy.

Her father never forgave her; he returned her letters unopened.
