BSE Extension Program REQUESTED: By-product Utilization Extension Engineer Responsibilities: Develop educational programs and conduct applied research addressing the identification and development of new uses for by-products generated by agricultural production and related industries. Educating federal, state, and local agencies, producer groups, and industries about developing an infrastructure to facilitate the economical utilization of what is currently considered to be by-products or products of marginal value. Examples of by-products or products of marginal value include, but are not limited to, animal manure, livestock and poultry mortalities, crop residues, food processing wastes, and cotton gin wastes. Responsibilities: Develop educational programs and conduct applied research addressing the identification and development of new uses for by-products generated by agricultural production and related industries.
