Geology Final Project Ms. Olson

Objectives 1.To research and analyze information on the Geologic History of a National Park. 2.To learn to work with a group to complete a task. 3.To present your information in the form of a power point presentation.

ESLR’s Expected Student Learning Results 1.Collaborative Learner 2.Quality Producer 3.Effective Communicator 4.Complex Thinker

Talk about the different geologic processes that shaped your park in the order that they occurred (oldest first). Give a reference as to how long processes have been at work (use the geologic time scale). Which processes are still occurring today? Cover the Plate Tectonic Setting and how it affected the history where appropriate.

Group Responsibility Produce a power point presentation on the geology and geologic history of a National Park (minimum of 15 information slides)

Individual Responsibility Produce a minimum of 5 slides (Do 1/3 of the work) Present your portion to the class.

Title Slide (Not part of the 15) Uniform Look Author of each slide at the bottom of the slide Bibliographic Slide (Not part of the 15) Imported graphics in each section (pictures, clipart, etc….) Use at least one different slide transition in each section

What not to do. Don’t detract from your presentation by overdoing the technology. Music/Sounds are good but make sure it is appropriate. Avoid cutesy clipart
