Early Life Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 in Trier, Germany. Son of Heinrich and Henrietta Marx. His father was a successful lawyer and a passionate activist for the Prussian reform. Marx’s father was Jewish but converted to be a Christian due to his job. Marx was home schooled till age 12.

Marxism In 1848 western Europe was dealing with many revolutions. Marx wanted to use this chaos to his advantage and used a newspaper called “Neue Rheinische Zeitung” to launch his ten points. He had ten points that he believed would make a better country.

Ten points 1. The abolition of property/ ownership of land. 2. For tax the more you earned the more you paid/ the less you earned the less you paid. 3. You cannot inherit things. 4. To confiscate all property of immigrants and rebels. 5. There is just one central bank controlled by the government, there are no other banks and your money is controlled by the government.

Ten Points (continued) 6. All communication and transport is controlled by the government. 7. The extension of factories are controlled by the state and all land that is not in use but could be. 8. Equal obligation for all to work and to establish an industry. 9. One person having control over manufacturing and distributing in a company. 10.Free education for children and abolition on child labor because a smart child is better for the long run.

The Communist Manifesto Karl Marx and German thinker Friedrich Engels published The Communist Manifesto. The Communist Manifesto is one of the world's most influential political manuscripts.
