City of Tucson SAMM Division Lost & Found Process

Once the PTF is received, the entire shipment is photographed.

Individual inventory slips are photographed, if present.

All boxes are photographed individually.

Loose items are also photographed.

Close-up pictures of inventory lists & items are taken for identification and location.

Photographs are digitally filed and held for 15 calendar days for possible claims.

SAMM employees carefully inspect items for illegal and/or dangerous items… …we are also looking for identification of the potential owner in order to return lost possessions.

Clothing is also thoroughly inspected.

Loose items are spread out and photographed for easy recognition.

Items are re-packaged, palletized and placed on shelves for security.

Devices containing personal information and perishable goods are separated and disposed of, or destroyed, if not claimed.
