Abstract Background : 류마티스 관절염에 있어서 흔히 Paracetamol 과 같은 진통제보다 NSAIDs(Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) 를 선호하는데 NSAIDs 의 이점과 단점을 살펴봤을 때 다른 진통제를 쓰는 것보다 더 바람직 한 것인지는 분명하지가 않다. Main Results : 1968~82 년까지 출판된 4 가지 연구에서는 121 명의 환자가 참가하고, 4 가지 NSAIDs 가 포함되어있는데, 환자와 조사자 모두 NSAIDs 를 선호하였다. 조사자의 선택 역시 diclofenac (50%) 이었으나 실험의 취약성 때문에 뚜렷한 결론을 내기가 힘들다. Author’s Conclusion : NSAIDs 의 이점과 단점을 살펴본 결과, 류마티스 관절염에 어느 것이 더 낫다고 말할 수는 없다. 그러나 류마티스 관절염을 갖고 있는 환자와 연구자들은 진통제보다 NSAIDs 를 선호하였다. 대단위의 적절한 무작위 실험이 더 필요한 실정이다.
