There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates Mammals Fish Reptiles Birds Amphibians

They are cold-blooded. Fish live in water and sharks do too. Sharks have fins and scales. They breathe oxygen from water through organs called gills. Sharks have certain characteristics that make them a fish. Here are some of the attributes:

Sharks have different attributes. Sharks eat barracudas. Most sharks give birth to live young, but some release eggs that hatch later.. They have to keep moving or they’ll drown. Baby sharks (called pups) are born with a full set of teeth and are fully ready to take care of themselves. They quickly swim away, even from their mothers who might eat them.

My animal has adapted to his environment because his body is shaped like a torpedo. The shape of his body helps him swim with extreme speed. There crescent shaped tail helps him dive toward his prey.

Habitat of the Great White Shark The Great White Shark lives in the second level of the sea. They hunt on the top level, so he always hunts salt water fish. They hunt down fish, seals, and sea lions.

Behavior and Social Habit Sharks fear human beings. Sharks have some of the most highly developed senses of any creature. Their primary sense is the ability to smell. The nostrils can smell a drop a blood in 25 gallons of water. They can sense the electric field of other animals. That means they can detect a beating heart or gill action. That’s how they can find fish that are hiding.

Appetite of Great White Shark The young Great White Shark eat fish, rays, and other sharks. Adults eat larger prey including pinnipeds (sea lions and seals), small toothed whales (like belugas),otters, and sea turtle. They also eat carrion (dead animals they found floating dead in the water).

Great White Shark Facts The Latin and Scientific name is Carcharodon carchias. The female size is 26feet long and the male size is 18feet long No one knows the life span of the great white shark. Some people estimate it to be about 100 years, but this has not been proven.

Interesting Facts Most Fish are cold-blooded… and most sharks are cold- blooded. But… some, like the Mako and the Great white shark, are partially warm-blooded. They are called endotherms. These sharks can raise their temperature about the temperature of the water. They need to have occasional short bursts of speed in hunting.
