The Mission of AVID AVID’s mission is close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in global society. Students will be afforded the opportunity to do the following : * Succeed in rigorous curriculum, * Enter mainstream activities of the school, * Increase their enrollment in four-year colleges, * Become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.

Goal To ensure all students will Demonstrate writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading skills in a variety of subject areas Utilize organization skills Develop student success skills Successfully transition to the academic responsibilities and coursework of middle school
Purpose Cultivate intrinsic motivation Create a vision of academic success Create a belief that academic rigor is expected, possible and attainable Once the vision and belief are in place, Self- esteem and self-confidence increase!
