UW BOV Information Share the Wonderful

What is Share the Wonderful? The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s annual concentrated, multimedia, campus-wide fundraising campaign to encourage alumni to make annual gifts. These gifts will support funds you choose across campus; annual funds are top priority Currently, less than 10% of alumni make gifts in support of academic programs at the UW Our goal: increase alumni donors to 37,000

Share the Wonderful If every BOV member made an annual gift of $1,000 or more, the [school/college] would have $xxx to do: 1.X 2.Y 3.Z

Why give? With a leadership annual gift of $1,000 or more, you will – ensure our [school/college] continues to inspire students – join the 1848 Society – receive a WAA membership We hope to achieve 100% participation from the School/College of _____ Board of Visitors Current participation rate = ___%

What else can I do? Ask for gifts within your personal networks Make phone calls to targeted populations (such as emeritus board members) Reach out through Facebook and Twitter to tell friends and colleagues about the importance of annual gifts Refer qualified alumni to DODs for leadership annual giving solicitations Host events for prospective donors

Share the Wonderful: Thank other donors Write a thank-you note to someone who’s made an annual gift Send an to new annual donors Tweet your thanks Post thank you messages on Facebook Host an 1848 Society reception
