Update of the Monte Carlo for data Effort to produce a Monte Carlo simulation for 2004/05 data Tasks: –New interaction region –Attenuation lengths vs endcap module numbers –Regeneration and nuclear interaction –EMC time resolution –  generator –Trigger jitter –Additional generators –lsb insertion code –Energy scale calibration –DC tracking resolution –Correlated noise in DC for charged kaons

Monte Carlo Production for data Final goal : –Simulation of a sample corresponding to 1.7 fb-1 (estimated by the end of 2005) –20 % all phys + 100% neu Kaon +100% Kpm +500% radiative +... –Extrapolating from 2001/02 ->280 days on 100 B80 CPU Production schedule would be driven by analysis needs.

Reprocessing of data Motivation more compact sample and with refined selection/reconstruction routines. Sample: 420 pb-1 of data Estimate time: 8000 CPU days Schedule: –Depends on the offline activities Current situation: 30 Cpu with dst’s and reconstruction running (1.4pb-1/day) First Part: 40 pb-1. Expected to finish in one month from now

Problem of false dead wires Description of the problem Affected : MC , data 2004 Needs to: –Redo the correct list for 2001/02 and 2004 –Re-reconstruct the MC for a sub-sample of 2001/02 data (30 pb-1) Time scale: –Correct list for data done (1 month/24CPU) –Correct list for 2004 data: to be done (estimate time  45 days for 650 pb -1 ) –MC re-reconstruction: to be done (estimate time  15 days for 30 pb -1 )

Offline resources and activities

Offline Plans Short term (before the end of the year): –Reprocessing 2001/02 –Re-reconstruction of MC 2001/02 (at least 30pb-1) –Correct list of dead wires for 2004 –MC 2004/05 Long term list (probably from next year): –Reprocessing 2004 data –…
