We recognise and accept That there is a need to plan for future pension provision That there may be a need to continue to change and adapt pension schemes That the Government is doing the right thing by looking at this problem now

Why are we so concerned? Impact on people who have carefully planned for the future – YOU! Past experience/on island expertise Exclusions A one size fits all approach Communication Impact on essential services and recruitment Impact on the island’s future and international standing Impact on the most vulnerable groups

The UK context Protected existing entitlement for the life of the members BUT ONLY after concerted union lobbying Members were prepared to take industrial action/go on strike The UK continue to change schemes – changes which are applied here
