Platypus Background

Natural predators of the platypus include snakes, water rats, goannas, spotted quolls, eels, hawks, owls and eagles.

Platypuses live in Australia in tropical, sub- tropical and temperate rainforests.

Platypuses eat crayfish, snails, worms and other animals they find by rooting in the gravel and mud in the stream.

Platypus  Platypuses have perfect sense of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. However, they have an extra sense. The platypus's bill is equipped with electroreceptors. This sensitive bill can sense electrical impulses, even the tiniest of movements made by underwater crustaceans.

Platypus  Sensing the electric current is important to how well they hunt underwater for food. It also helps it to avoid it’s predators at night

Get a Platypus… today.  The platypus can hunt in very dark waters because of their awesome duck bills.  It’s a duck/beaver… What’s not to love?
